Free agent center Dexter Pittman has accepted an invitation to the Chicago Bulls’ training camp, a league source told RealGM.

Pittman’s camp deal will be non-guaranteed, giving the 6-foot-11 big man an opportunity to battle for a spot on the regular season roster.

Pittman played four games for the San Antonio Spurs’ summer league team, averaging seven points, six rebounds and two blocks and impressing people in Las Vegas with his elevated fitness and slimmed physique. The Bulls have been searching for a frontcourt player to round out their roster, and they currently have 12 guaranteed contracts.

A 25-year-old, former second round pick, Pittman was an NBA champion with the Miami Heat in 2012. Pittman, who averages 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds over three seasons, finished last season spending seven games with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Sportando first reported Pittman’s decision to appear in training camp for Chicago.
