After surgery to repair a torn left rotator cuff, Anthony Bennett resumed playing five-on-five this week, according to sources.

The procedure was expected to keep Bennett out four months.

Bennett was not able to play in the Cleveland Cavaliers' summer league games in July and knows he must get in better shape as training camp nears.

The Cavaliers are expected to start Tristan Thompson at power forward and not use Bennett at small forward this season. Thompson could move to center, with Bennett starting, if Andrew Bynum misses time.
