The Sacramento Kings are maintaining talks with Greivis Vasquez on a potential contract extension before the Oct. 31 deadline for 2010 draft picks.

The Kings also could extend the contract of Patrick Patterson, and the organization has to decide whether to exercise the team option on Jimmer Fredette's deal for 2014-15, worth $3.3 million.

"We're still looking at things and evaluating before making a decision," general manager Pete D'Alessandro said. "… I think there's some spirited conversations going on about all the guys near the deadline."

The Kings signed DeMarcus Cousins to an extension worth four years and $62 million. An extension for Vasquez or Patterson would be worth considerably less.
