D-League forward James Nunnally has agreed to sign a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks, a league source told RealGM.

Nunnally receives a call up to the Hawks after an impressive showing at the D-League Showcase in Reno, Nev., where he met with four NBA teams. He scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Bakersfield Jam on Tuesday.

Nunnally is averaging 18.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 19 games this season. Despite past disappointments – including being left out of the Portsmouth Invitational tournament and needing to go through adversity in the D-League – Nunnally made his work habits and progress clear to those around him.

A training camp invitation with the Phoenix Suns in October, Nunnally had been released after three games and evaluated offers before returning to Bakersfield. He went undrafted in 2012, playing four seasons at UC Santa Barbara.

DleagueDigest.com first reported Nunnally was set to be called up to Atlanta.
