Maurice Cheeks was fired as head coach of the Detroit Pistons on Feb. 9 and the team is 2-6 since the firing.

Brandon Jennings still cannot believe Cheeks was let go 50 games into the season.

“You give a coach half a season with new faces and new chemistry, that’s not enough time,” Jennings said. “I felt like he was in a losing situation. We were winning and now we’re playing like the old Pistons, in the beginning."

Jennings had an efficient start to the season under Cheeks, a former point guard.

“I don’t have a problem with John (Loyer), just with the whole thing of changing coaches was one of the more difficult things for me,” Jennings said. “John was our assistant, so I know a lot about him. It was just a personal problem with Mo leaving.”
