The Los Angeles Clippers intend to decline the 2014-15 team option on Willie Green, with a plan to release him before his deal becomes fully guaranteed, a league source told RealGM.

A dependable and useful reserve for the Clippers this past season, Green averaged nearly five points to go along with 1.4 rebounds per game. He played 55 games and proved reliable despite fluctuating playing time.

Green has spent the past two NBA seasons in Los Angeles. The Clippers had to decide on Green’s option before free agency and had leaned toward not picking it up, and the organization remains interested in re-signing him.

Green, 32, has averaged 8.5 points and 1.8 rebounds over 11 seasons.
