Carmelo Anthony plans on waiting until LeBron James resolves his free agency situation before announcing where he'll sign, according to sources.

The New York Knicks expected to know by Monday if Anthony would re-sign. Anthony is also believed to be considering the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks made pitches.

Anthony appears to be waiting for James to see whether there would be any option to join him.

"He wants to see what LeBron does," one source with knowledge of Anthony's thinking told ESPN. "But he can't wait forever."

Anthony's hope of joining James appears to depend on Chris Bosh, who is said to be seriously considering a deal with the Rockets.

James will be meeting with Pat Riley on Wednesday at 3:00 PM PST.
