Free agent forward Joe Alexander has signed a training camp contract with the Denver Nuggets, a league source told RealGM.
Alexander, who finalized his deal on Tuesday, was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft to the Milwaukee Bucks. He averaged 4.7 points and 1.9 rebounds as a rookie, and the 6-foot-8 product was a candidate for the slam dunk contest at the 2009 All-Star weekend.
Alexander never found a niche in the league out of West Virginia University, playing professionally in the D-League and Russia after being released by the Chicago Bulls in 2010.
Alexander went to training camp with the Golden State Warriors last season.
