Dwight Howard went through the Houston Rockets' voluntary practice on Monday one day after playing in his first game in nearly a month.

“I just think my body has to get used to playing and then recovering,” Howard said. “When you don’t play for a while, the recovery process after the game slows down. Once my body gets used to the wear and tear of playing, getting up and down the floor, I’ll be fine. I’ll play on Wednesday. No doubt. Shouldn’t be a problem.”

Howard had missed 11 games with a strained right knee.

“I wanted to be out there on the floor,” Howard said. “The guys knew how hard I was working every day to get my body right so I could play. Just watching gives you an appreciation for something, especially when you get a chance to get back out there and play.”
