The Minnesota Timberwolves are making a late push to trade for Kevin Garnett.

The Wolves and Brooklyn Nets have discussed a trade involving Garnett returning to the franchise he began his career with for Thad Young.

Garnett has a no trade clause and has interest in becoming an owner of the Wolves in the future.

The Wolves acquired Young as part of the Kevin Love trade in the offseason for Miami's first round pick.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Garnett has ruled out a buyout with the Nets and will instead consider the Wolves' trade idea.

Update: Approximately 90 minutes before the deadline, Wojnarowski reports there is a growing belief Garnett will waive his no-trade clause.
