Rajon Rondo is out indefinitely after picking up a back injury in Game 2.

Rondo played just 10 minutes in the Dallas Mavericks' loss against the Houston Rockets. Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reports that Rondo's back has been hurt for about a week and that he took a charge/block early in Game 2 that aggravated the injury.

Rondo has struggled to adapt since coming to the Mavericks in a trade in December.

Rondo will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

Rick Carlisle later was asked if he expects Rondo to put on a Mavericks' uniform again.

"No, I don't," said Carlisle.

Carlisle was asked if he believes he could coexist with Rondo.

“Absolutely. I like Rondo. My relationship with him was professional."
