The initial offer from the Miami Heat to Dwyane Wade on a contract extension was believed to be under $10 million per season.

Wade opted out of his original contract last offseason and accepted a two-year, $31 million deal, which includes a $16.1 million player option. Wade took less money in order to give the Heat flexibility to add pieces to their roster.

The Heat are reluctant to tie up their cap space in the future.

Wade is now considering opting out of his contract and weighing his options elsewhere.
