Kawhi Leonard has agreed upon the framework of a new maximum contract with the San Antonio Spurs that could be worth more than $90 million.

"I have every intention of signing with the San Antonio Spurs," Leonard said in a statement late Wednesday. "There are details in the contract which need to be worked out with the organization. I am confident that this will be accomplished."

Officials from the Spurs reached out to Leonard’s agents, Brian Elfus and Mitch Frankel of Impact Sports, shortly after midnight ET on Wednesday and the sides reached an agreement in principle on a contract that still has deal points to be worked out in the next several days, sources said.
