The Cleveland Cavaliers and Tristan Thompson continue to discuss their contract and no deal is in place yet.

LeBron James and the Cavaliers agreed upon a two-year contract, which was widely seen as unlikely to happen until Thompson agreed to a deal.

The Cavaliers and Thompson are still expected to eventually agree upon a long-term deal.

"Separate cases," a source told the USA Today.

Thompson and the Cavaliers were discussing an $80 million deal at the start of free agency.
