The Golden State Warriors are considered the significant frontrunners to sign Kevin Durant should he decide to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency.

Durant has not even come close to making any decisions about his future with the Thunder, but he is determined to win and that keeps bringing him back to the Warriors.

Durant is expected to explore his options in free agency barring a title by the Thunder.

Draymond Green would perhaps need to sacrifice the most if the Warriors acquire Durant, but he also is strongly in support of pursuing him. Green is expected to be a tenacious recruiter of Durant.

“We obviously have a very appealing and attractive team and organization,” Joe Lacob told The Vertical.

“… We have a team – and a team concept,” Lacob said. “We’re proud of that. Proud of the way the coaching staff coaches that way, the players play that way. And our leader, Steph, epitomizes that. I do think that they all just want to win. That’s our mantra for the whole organization. I think anybody could feel comfortable coming onto this team.”

The Warriors would have to make several moves in order to clear enough cap space to sign Durant.
