The Brooklyn Nets have waived Joe Johnson after agreeing upon a buyout.

The Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Toronto Raptors are already in pursuit of Johnson, according to Marc Stein.

The Cavaliers are confident of their chances of signing Johnson, though the Hawks are also expected to be a factor.

Zach Lowe of ESPN reports Johnson gave up $3 million of his remaining salary in order to join a playoff contender.
