Carmelo Anthony will likely miss the playoffs for the third straight season while his good friends, LeBron James, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade, continue to play for contending teams.

"I don't think envy is kind of the right word," Anthony said Friday morning. "I do look at my peers and say, 'Damn, what am I doing wrong? I should be there.' There was one point in time where they were looking at me like that. Made (the playoffs) 10, 11 years straight.

"Right now it's kind of a rough patch for me. I'm trying to figure out a way to get out of it."

Anthony could waive his no-trade clause this offseason.

Anthony agreed with the theory that he is under more scrutiny than most All Stars.

"I just accept it," he said. "I came to grips with that a long time ago, that that's going to be the way it is."
