Jerry Sloan is suffering from Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia.

Lewy body dementia is a neurological disorder that manifests itself as difficulty with memory, problem solving, planning and analytical thinking. 

Sloan is now 74 and stepped down as head coach of the Utah Jazz in 2011.

In 2013, Sloan returned to the Jazz as an adviser.
