Chris Bosh is attempting to return to game action as he recovers from blood clots that recurred in February.

The Miami Heat are in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Toronto Raptors and are not letting Bosh play due to health concerns. Bosh hasn't practiced with the team since the diagnosis at the All-Star break.

Bosh sought the influence of the National Basketball Players Association to put pressure on the Heat to let him play.

The NBPA released the following statement (via Deadspin's Kevin Draper):

"Our top priority is Chris' health and well-being. We have spoken with Chris and his agent, and have reached out to the Miami Heat. We are hopeful that all parties involved can meet as soon as possible to resolve the situation."
