The Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in trading for Jimmy Butler and are prepared to use the fifth overall pick to build an offer to the Chicago Bulls.

Butler previously played for Tom Thibodeau who was hired this offseason as general manager and head coach of the Wolves.

Chicago isn't actively shopping Butler but are listening to offers.

Butler signed a five-year deal worth in excess of $90 million last summer.

The Bulls have strong interest in Kris Dunn, who could be selected in the 3-to-5 range in the draft.
