The Portland Trail Blazers have hired Kevin Calabro to replace Mike Barrett as their new television play-by-play announcer.

Calabro was previously the longtime voice of the Seattle SuperSonics.

“People shouldn’t have any misgivings about me being a Sonics guy coming down there,” said Calabro prior to calling Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals. “The Sonics have moved on, I’ve moved on, it’s a new chapter and I’m excited to get going.”
