The Oklahoma City Thunder have cap space, which they can use to renegotiate and extend the contract of Russell Westbrook.

The Thunder can add up to $8 million to Westbrook's $17.769 million contract for the 16-17 season while adding more years to his deal. Westbrook is scheduled to be a free agent in 2017.

If Westbrook does not elect to do that, multiple general managers believe the Thunder will evaluate his trade value.

The Thunder have internally not made any decisions on the future of Westbrook.
