The relationship between Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat has moved into a fragile place as they continue to discuss a contract.

Wade is considering leaving the Heat this offseason.

Wade didn't help the Heat with their recruitment of Kevin Durant either with a call or text, let alone an appearance at their meeting on Sunday. Wade was also vacationing with LeBron James overseas at the time.

While Hassan Whiteside was willing to give back some salary to make room for Durant, Wade was not.

James is in a position to either make financial sacrifices to help the Cleveland Cavaliers sign Wade from the Heat, or merely help his friend with leverage on getting a richer deal with the Heat.

Wade could sign a deal with the Denver Nuggets or Milwaukee Bucks and then be traded to the Cavaliers after Dec. 15th.

James cost Wade $10 million by leaving the Heat in 2014. Wade had opted out of a $42 million deal to create max room for James, only to get stuck with a $32 million deal when James left.
