The Cleveland Cavaliers are highly skeptical Mo Williams will return for the 16-17 season.

Williams is strongly considering retirement.

The Cavaliers decided not to waive Williams to stretch the $2.2 million they owe him next season over three seasons.

Williams, who battled knee and thumb injuries for much of Cleveland's 2016 title run, will now probably make the full $2.2 million he's owed, unless he reaches a buyout agreement with the Cavs as part of his retirement.

The Cavaliers will have a big hole at point guard behind Kyrie Irving with Kay Felder the only other player at the position signed.
