The Milwaukee Bucks are preparing for the possibility of Greg Monroe opting into his contract for the 17-18 season.

Monroe signed a three-year, $51.4 million deal with the Bucks in the 2015 offseason. Monroe is due $17.88 million for the 17-18 season, which he may not command on the open market even with the cap spike.

Monroe has struggled with his fit within the Bucks.

Milwaukee also re-signed Miles Plumlee in the 2016 offseason, extended John Henson a year ago and drafted Thon Maker, making the center position a crowded one long-term.
