Charles Oakley said on Thursday that security has harassed him at Madison Square Garden even before Wednesday's incident that led to his ejection and arrest.

“Last year, four security guys walked over to me when I was in the game,” the retired Knicks forward told ESPN radio Thursday. “I let it go. They can’t keep doing this to me.”

Oakley said security guards are under “orders” to alert Garden and team owner James Dolan whenever he is in the building.

Oakley denied shouting at Dolan before security guards intervened.

“I didn’t know the guy was sitting there until they walked over to me,” Oakley said. “Everybody in the Garden was hollering. How could hear something when everybody in the Garden was hollering.”

Oakley has received public support from the likes of LeBron James and Chris Paul since the incident.

The Knicks released the following statement on Thursday afternoon:

"There are dozens of security staff, employees and NYPD that witnessed Oakley's abusive behavior. It started when he entered the building and continued when he was arrested and left the building. Every single statement we have received is consistent in describing his actions. Everything he said since the incident is pure fiction.
