The Sacramento Kings have been discussing DeMarcus Cousins trade scenarios in recent days.

The future of Cousins is being debated internally within the Kings despite his apparently willingness to sign a supermax extension this offseason. Vivek Ranadive has been going back and forth on whether to sign Cousins to a long-term extension.

The New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the teams who have discussed a Cousins' trade with the Kings.

Talks with New Orleans have included the Pelicans sending multiple first-round picks, pick swaps, Buddy Hield and expiring contracts to the Kings, league sources said. The Pelicans are eager to find a center to pair with Davis and Jrue Holiday. New Orleans has discussed trade proposals for Brooklyn’s Brook Lopez and Philadelphia’s Jahlil Okafor too, league sources said.

Cousins' agent, Jarinn Akana, recently met with Vlade Divac.

"We met with Vlade and ownership and they assured us and DeMarcus that he's not being traded," said Akana. "As far as we're concerned, nothing has changed."

The Kings had promised Cousins both publicly and privately that he wouldn't be traded.
