Even though the NBA has moved away from isolation basketball over the past decade with teams emphasizing ball movement, pick and rolls, and motion offense, it has morphed into a new form at times.

"The NBA's new isolation is finding the worst defender on the other team, and having his guy screen for your best ball-handler," writes Zach Lowe.

Because defenses utilize the switch now more than ever, it becomes expected for the screen to instantly create the expected and preferred matchup.

The Golden State Warriors have done this in The Finals by targeting Kyle Korver and Kevin Love, while the Cleveland Cavaliers have done it as well on Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, Stephen Curry and Ian Clark.

The NBA's best isolation scorers can score on anyone but they become truly lethal when they can exploit a mismatch in quality.
