The Golden State Warriors are confident Steve Kerr will return as head coach for the 17-18 season.

Kerr missed several weeks of the playoffs due to complications related to a 2015 back surgery. Mike Brown coached in Kerr's place until Game 2 of The Finals.

"There's no doubt in my mind that he will return as the coach of this team," Myers told ESPN after Game 5. "I'm confident we'll have him back. Steve will be our coach."

Kerr was visibly emotional with tears.

"I've been so lucky to be part of so many championship teams as a player and now as a coach, and it never gets old," Kerr said. "But tonight, was a little different, just based on the things I've had to go through during this time."

Similar to their success to start the 15-16 season under Luke Walton, the Warriors went 11-0 with Brown.

Even though Kerr returned, he still had some complications.

"The one thing I didn't realize -- I coached Steve as a player," Brown said. "To see his passion and to feel his passion all year and then to be able to have him lead us these last games was unbelievable. An unbelievable feeling for him, an unbelievable feeling for me and an unbelievable feeling for the team. This is how it should've ended. Just like this."

Kerr has now won nine rings with two as a coach following seven as a player.
