The Boston Celtics have agreed upon a one-year, $4.3 million deal with Aron Baynes.

Baynes opted out of his $6.5 million contract with the Detroit Pistons to become a free agent.

Baynes signed a three-year, $20 million deal with Detroit in 2015.

Baynes averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 15.5 minutes over 75 games last season with the Pistons.

The Celtics have a major need at center following the departures of Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Zeller.
