The Cleveland Cavaliers had a deal involving Kyrie Irving on the table before the draft that was crafted by David Griffin.

The Cavaliers didn't know at that time that Irving would like to be traded this offseason.

Cleveland was attempting to trade for Paul George or Jimmy Butler at the time. The Cavaliers, at that point, were focused on moving Kevin Love.

Multiple team officials declined comment, though a source said the team would move Irving and get a huge return.
