Following their loss on Monday, Trevor Ariza, Chris Paul and James Harden entered the Los Angeles Clippers' locker room through a backdoor seeking to confront Austin Rivers and Blake Griffin.

The Clippers suddenly leaped to their feet when stunned to see those three Rockets plus Gerald Green calling for them.

Several Clippers dared the Rockets to come further into the room but security and team officials pushed the Rockets out the door and back towards their own locker room.

Ariza was the first one through the door with Paul lingering back, according to witnesses.

"It was classic NBA," one Clipper witness told ESPN. "None of these guys were going to fight."

The NBA will investigate the incident.

"We were where we were supposed to be," Griffin said. "We were in our locker room. So whatever happens over there, I mean, we can't control what anybody else does. We control what we did. Everybody was in our seats. That's it. You should ask them."

Austin Rivers was out for the game due to injury but he reportedly became especially belligerent towards Houston as the Clippers began to pull away behind an excellent performance from Griffin.

Griffin unleashed on the Rockets in the final minutes of the game, brushing past Mike D'Antoni and inspiring the Rockets coach to scream "F--- you," at him.

The Clippers traded Paul to the Rockets last June after six seasons with the team and this was his first game back to play his former team. Following his exit, there were numerous reports of strain between Paul and Austin Rivers.
