The Philadelphia 76ers strenuously rebutted a piece in the New York Daily News that indicated Elton Brand approached the franchise's owners about trading Ben Simmons. The story also contends that Brett Brown had lost Philadelphia's locker room.

"This is one of the most irresponsible hack jobs I've ever seen in more than a decade of working in sports," 76ers' vice president of communications Dave Sholler wrote on Twitter.

"Factual inaccuracies, made-up stories, and references to convos that never happened.

"This is a steaming pile of trash."

The report claimed Simmons sat out of Philadelphia's March 25th game because he was partying in Miami with his girlfriend Kendall Jenner. Jenner was actually in Los Angeles at the time and the report was changed to Orlando.

"I am not worried about it; are you talking about the regular season?" said Simmons when asked about the report. "We are talking about the play-offs. Unless you want to talk about something else, [go] somewhere else with it. [It's] The playoffs right now."
