Mike D'Antoni said that rebounding and defense were the two things that stood out to him when looking back at the tape of the Houston Rockets' loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference semifinals.

"We did not rebound the ball well. We gave them too many shots. You cannot give them extra possessions. We did that. We didn’t rebound the ball well, so that means we weren’t in transition as much as we should’ve been. And their defense, in a set half-court, is really, really good. I think the combinations of those two things, just getting out in transition and how we couldn’t do it because of the rebounding, I think that killed us. That killed us," said D'Antoni.

D'Antoni then addressed the recent upheaval of his Rockets assistant coaching staff, starting with the team's decision to not renew Jeff Bzdelik.

The Rockets also recently announced that they were not renewing the contract of 4 other members of D'Antoni's staff, including James Harden's personal trainer.

"It’s even hard to speak on it, because Jeff did a phenomenal job, but you learn in this business that you keep moving forward and that’s all we’ll do," added D'Antoni.
