Team Needs: A consistent scorer, a swingman

Outlook: The Jazz fell just short of the playoffs last season and in what will likely be Jerry Sloan's last season with the team, he hopes to build chemistry among the assets that make up the Jazz's future. These assets are last year's third pick in the draft Deron Williams, defensive wizard Andrei Kirilenko, hard-nosed power forward Carlos Boozer and multi-faceted Turkish center Mehmet Okur.

While these players are mainly specialists, none of them specialize in scoring and that is what the Jazz should look for to keep them competitive and draw up effective offensive schemes. The Jazz are also rumored to be attempting to move up in the draft.

Most Suitable Prospects:

J.J. Redick - Perhaps the most established scorer in the draft and this year's Wooden Award winner would fit nicely with the Jazz. He would help stretch defenses and could come in and be a scoring option right away, which is something that he certainly desires. Sloan could teach Redick some skills to ensure that he's not a defensive liability.

Shannon Brown ? An explosive player who will attack the basket and would likely fit into the Jazz's offensive scheme. Brown is good at every facet of the game, but not necessarily great at anything. Jerry Sloan could mold Brown into a heck of a player if Brown is willing to put in the work.

Shawne Williams - The one-and-done out of Memphis has slowly been improving his stock. Williams is a gifted player who with time can be a force in the NBA. The Jazz do not necessarily need someone to help out right away and would prefer someone who simply fits in with the team mentality and compliments the rest of the players on the floor. The team wants to have a good player starting at every position and Williams has the versatility to play 1 through 4 if any other players get injured - something that the Jazz have suffered through in past years.

Best Case Scenario: The Jazz are able to find the player who they feel best fits in with their current players and can score 20 or more points on any given night.

Worst Case Scenario: The Jazz select another rookie who clashes with Sloan's style and gets traded within two years a la Kirk Snyder and Kris Humphries.
