While other high school All-Star games like the Jordan Classic and Nike Hoop Summit have emerged over the past few years, the McDonald's All-American Game largely remains the gold standard.

The MVP of McDonald's has almost always gone on to have incredibly relevant college careers and/or excellent NBA tenures.

2001: Eddy Curry, Thornwood

Curry scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds on his way to MVP honors in 2001 at Cameron Indoor Stadium, which was the closest he ever came to stepping foot on a college campus.

Curry was the Illinois Mr. Baketball and was also named the Parade Player of the Year in the months before being selected fourth overall by the Bulls.

Other Notables: Tyson Chandler, Kwame Brown, Dajuan Wagner, T.J. Ford, David Lee, Mo Williams

2002: J.J. Redick, Cave Spring

Redick outshined the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire and Chris Bosh to win MVP honors with 26 points on 10-for-15 shooting (5-for-6 from distance).

Redick was named to the Second Team for the season by both Parade and USA TODAY.

Other Notables: Anthony, Stoudemire, Bosh, Raymond Felton

2003: LeBron James, St. Vincent-St. Mary

The entire 02-03 high school season was about LeBron James and McDonald's was no different, as he scored 27 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists. James was teamed with the Wake Forest-bound Chris Paul and Charlie Villanueva.

LeBron also won the Jordan Classic MVP and virtually every national player of the year award, many of them also as a junior in 2002.

Other Notables: Paul, Luol Deng, Villanueva, Travis Outlaw, Aaron Brooks

2004: Dwight Howard, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy; J.R. Smith, Saint Benedict's Preparatory School

This was one of the deepest McDonald's Games in history, with several career NBA starters appearing.

Howard had 19 points, but his co-MVP Smith was a bigger surprise and had a memorable 360-degree dunk.

Other Notables: Josh Smith, Al Jefferson, Rudy Gay, LaMarcus Aldridge, Shaun Livingston, Marvin Williams, Rajon Rondo

2005: Josh McRoberts, Carmel

Nothing against McRoberts, but he is quite easily the least impressive MVP of the decade in what was a weak game in general. McRoberts had 17 points and 12 boards in the game that was hosted on the Notre Dame campus.

The 2005 high school class was the final one to be draft-eligible and it was one of the weakest despite its depth.

Other Notables: Monta Ellis, Andrew Bynum, Tyler Hansbrough, Martell Webster, Julian Wright, Amir Johnson, Louis Williams

2006: Chase Budinger, La Costa Canyon; Kevin Durant, Montrose Christian

The country wanted to get their first national glimpse of Greg Oden, but Budinger and Durant showed why they would each become excellent freshman scorers.

Durant scored 25 points to go with five rebounds and four assists, while Budinger had 11 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals in front of a hometown crowd in San Diego.

Other Notables: Oden, Ty Lawson, Mike Conley, Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez, D.J. Augustin, Thaddeus Young

2007: Michael Beasley, Notre Dame Prep

The 2007 high school class is my personal favorite because of the depth and variety of talent, but Beasley was a man amongst boys and scored 23 points to go with 12 rebounds.

Other Notables: Derrick Rose, Eric Gordon, Kevin Love, O.J. Mayo, Jonny Flynn, Blake Griffin, James Harden, J.J. Hickson, Cole Aldrich, Patrick Patterson

2008: Tyreke Evans, American Christian Academy

Evans, who still hadn't made his college choice at the time, scored 21 points to go with 10 rebounds and four assists.

Jordan also was the MVP of the Jordan Classic and was a First Team Parade All-American.

Evans became the third MVP of the decade to go onto win the Rookie of the Year award.

Other Notables: Jrue Holiday, DeMar DeRozan, Brandon Jennings, Greg Monroe, Ed Davis, Al-Farouq Aminu, Kemba Walker, Elliot Williams, Willie Warren

2009: Derrick Favors, South Atlanta

John Wall didn't play in this game because he had played five seasons of high school, letting the eventual number three overall pick to win MVP behind a 19 point, eight rebound night.

Like Evans, Favors also was named the Jordan Classic MVP. He also was the Naismith, Parade and USA TODAY Player of the Year.

Other Notables: DeMarcus Cousins, Avery Bradley, John Henson, Mason Plumlee, Wally Judge

2010: Harrison Barnes, Ames; Jared Sullinger, Ohio State

Barnes had 18 points and five rebounds, but Sullinger's 22 points, seven rebounds was the more impressive performance for the winning East side.

Barnes also won the Jordan Classic MVP and was named the USA TODAY's Player of the year.

Sullinger won the Naismith and Parade top honors.

Other Notables: Kyrie Irving, Perry Jones, Josh Selby, Tobias Harris, Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones, Tristan Thompson
