Thunder Assign Aldrich To D-League

Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today that the team has assigned center Cole Aldrich to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League for the second time this season.

In his first assignment with the 66ers, Aldrich saw action in five games (all starts) averaging 7.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 27.4 minutes per game.

Stampede Acquire Cedric Jackson For Future First Round D-League Pick

The Idaho Stampede acquired Cedric Jackson from the Erie BayHawks in a trade for a first-round draft pick in the 2011 NBA Development League Draft.

Jackson played 12 games in the NBA in 2009-10 with Washington, San Antonio and Cleveland, averaging 1.7 points and 1.2 assists per game.

In his D-League career, Jackson has appeared in 48 games (38 starts), averaging 15.1 points, 7.2 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.

Wright's 32 Points Headlines Wednesday's Former D-Leaguer Action

There were 32 players with NBA D-League experience that competed in 11 NBA games on Wednesday, five as starters.

- Golden State’s Dorell Wright scored a career-high 32 points to go along with 11 rebounds in a loss to Atlanta.

- Washington’s Andray Blatche tallied 22 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in a win over Indiana.

- Cleveland’s Ramon Sessions came off the bench to score 22 points in a loss to Charlotte.

- Houston’s Aaron Brooks came off the bench and recorded 20 points on 6-13 shooting to go along with nine assists in a loss to Miami.

- Minnesota’s Martell Webster scored 17 points on 6-11 shooting in 24 minutes of action in a loss to Denver.

Warriors Assign Lin To D-League

Golden State Warriors guard Jeremy Lin was assigned to the Reno Bighorns, the Warriors? NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today.  The assignment marks the 23rd time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Lin, a rookie out of Harvard.

Lin (6-3, 200) has appeared in 17 games this season for Golden State, averaging 1.9 points in 8.5 minutes. In the 2010 NBA Summer League, Lin averaged 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in five games with the Dallas Mavericks.

Lafayette Named D-League Performer Of The Week

Oliver Lafayette of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 20.

Lafayette, a 6-2, 190-pound guard out of Houston who was in the Boston Celtics? 2010 training camp, led Fort Wayne to a 2-0 record on the week, averaging 25.5 points and 7.0 rebounds.

In the Mad Ants? 109-105 win over Springfield on Dec. 25, Lafayette scored a team-high 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting. The next day, Lafayette scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, leading Fort Wayne to a 109-102 victory over Iowa.

Blazers Recall Babbitt From D-League

The Portland Trail Blazers have recalled forward Luke Babbitt from the NBA Development League’s Idaho Stampede, it was announced today by General Manager Rich Cho.

In four games with the Stampede, Babbitt posted averages of 18.0 points (20-21 FT) and 5.8 rebounds in 27.3 minutes. He totaled highs of 23 points, nine rebounds and two blocks on Dec. 11 vs. the Utah Flash.

Babbitt, 21, has appeared in eight games for the Trail Blazers, recording four points and two rebounds in 10 minutes Nov. 6 vs. the Toronto Raptors.

Trey Johnson of the Bakersfield Jam was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 6.

A 6-5, 215-pound guard out of Jackson State who earned two Call-Ups to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2008-09, Johnson led Bakersfield to a 3-0 record on the week, averaging 26.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists.

Walker Cleared To Join Idaho Stampede

Antoine Walker has cleared the standard NBA D-League background check and was placed on waivers Friday, according to a league source.

Walker should join the Idaho Stampede when he clears waivers Tuesday afternoon.

He averaged 17.5 points and 7.7 rebounds over the course of his NBA career that began after becoming the sixth overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.
