Heat Sign Kendrick Nunn

The Miami Heat have signed guard Kendrick Nunn. 

Nunn appeared in 49 games (one start) with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League this season, helping them to a postseason berth after averaging 19.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.45 steals and 29.0 minutes while shooting 47.3 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three-point range and 85.7 percent from the foul line. He led the team in points (948), steals (71), field goals made (375), three-point field goals made (84) and free throws made (114). In two postseason games with Santa Cruz, he averaged 30.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.00 steals and 31.6 minutes while shooting 61.5 percent (24-of-39) from the field, 75 percent (9-of-12) from three-point range and a perfect 3-of-3 from the foul line.

Pinson was previously on a two-way contract.

Pinson went undrafted out of North Carolina in 2018.

Wizards Sign Jordan McRae To Standard NBA Contract

The Washington Wizards have signed Jordan McRae to a standard NBA contract. 

Originally signed to a two-way contact prior to the season, McRae has averaged 5.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 27 games for the Wizards and was named to the 2018-19 All-NBA G League First Team for his play with the Capital City Go-Go, Washington’s G League affiliate.

In 31 games with the Go-Go this season, McRae led the NBA G League in scoring at 30.4 points per game, becoming just the second qualified player to average over 30 points per game over the last 12 seasons in the league. He scored in double-figures in all 31 of his appearances (including a 54-point game), while also leading the league in 40-point (six) and 30-point (19) outings. McRae broke Antonio Blakeney’s record for consecutive 30-point games with a 10-game streak from January 15 to March 2 – a stretch where he averaged 37.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. In his 27 games with the Wizards, McRae scored in double figures seven times and scored at least 20 points twice, including a season-high 21 on March 27 at Phoenix.

Chris Boucher headlines the 2018-19 All-NBA G League Teams.

Boucher, who averaged 27.2 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 blocked shots, is joined on the All-NBA G League First Team by Agua Caliente Clippers center Angel Delgado, Raptors 905 guard Jordan Loyd, Capital City Go-Go guard and league scoring leader Jordan McRae (30.4 ppg) and Long Island Nets forward Alan Williams.  All five members of the First Team played in both the NBA and NBA G League during the 2018-19 season, with Boucher as both an NBA two-way player and assignee and Delgado, Loyd, McRae and Williams as two-way players.

The All-NBA G League Second Team features three NBA two-way players: forward Yante Maten (Sioux Falls/Miami Heat), forward Johnathan Motley (Agua Caliente/LA Clippers) and guard Theo Pinson (Long Island/Brooklyn Nets).  Center Isaiah Hartenstein of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and guard Walter Lemon Jr. of the Windy City Bulls round out the Second Team.  Hartenstein has spent time on assignment from the Houston Rockets throughout the season.  Lemon Jr. earned a Call-Up with the Chicago Bulls on March 29.

The Third Team is composed of four NBA two-way players: guard PJ Dozier (Maine Red Claws/Boston Celtics), forward Amile Jefferson (Lakeland Magic/Orlando Magic), guard Kalin Lucas (Grand Rapids Drive/Detroit Pistons) and forward Duncan Robinson (Sioux Falls Skyforce/Miami Heat).  Wisconsin Herd forward Christian Wood, who spent time on assignment from the Milwaukee Bucks throughout the season, completes the Third Team.  On Jan. 15, Lucas earned a GATORADE Call-Up by signing a two-way contract.

Knicks Sign Billy Garrett For Remainder Of Season

The New York Knicks have signed Billy Garrett to a contract for the remainder of the season.

Garrett was with the Knicks during the preseason and averaged 16.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Westchester Knicks.

Garrett went undrafted out of DePaul in 2017.

Chris Boucher Named G League MVP, Defensive Player Of The Year

Raptors 905 forward Chris Boucher has been named the 2018-19 NBA G League Most Valuable Player and the 2018-19 NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year. He becomes the first player to win both awards in the same season. The Canadian is also the first international player to earn MVP honors.

Boucher (6-11, 200, Oregon), who signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors last October before having it converted to a standard NBA contract in February, averaged 27.2 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 blocked shots and shot 51.0 percent from the field in 28 games with Raptors 905. Among players who appeared in at least 28 games, Boucher ranked third in scoring, sixth in rebounding and first in blocks. Raptors 905 went 20-8 with him in the lineup and 29-21 overall.

Angel Delgado Named G League Rookie Of The Year

Agua Caliente Clippers center Angel Delgado has been named the 2018-19 NBA G League Rookie of the Year.  The award, voted on by the league’s 27 head coaches and general managers, recognizes the first-year professional who most significantly contributed to his team’s success during the season. 

Delgado (6-10, 240, Seton Hall) a two-way player with the LA Clippers, averaged 18.5 points and an NBA G League-high 14.8 rebounds in 44 games for Agua Caliente. 

The LA Clippers signed Delgado to a two-way contract last June after he averaged 13.6 points and 11.8 rebounds as a senior at Seton Hall in the 2017-18 season.  He has appeared in two games with the NBA’s Clippers this season.
