Spurs Assign Zach Collins To Austin

The San Antonio Spurs have assigned forward Zach Collins to the Austin Spurs. Collins will be available for Austin on Monday, Jan. 17.

Originally drafted with the 10th overall selection in the 2017 NBA Draft by Sacramento before being dealt to Portland, Collins played his first three seasons with the Trail Blazers. The former Gonzaga Bulldog averaged 5.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 17.5 minutes over 154 career games before signing with the Spurs on Aug. 11, 2021.

Collins missed the entirety of last season and the beginning of this year while returning from a left ankle stress fracture. The 24-year-old last appeared in an NBA game on Aug. 13, 2020, during the 2019-20 season restart in Orlando.

Jazz Waive Malik Fitts From Two-Way Contract

The Utah Jazz have waived two-way forward Malik Fitts. 

Fitts (6-8, 230, St. Mary’s) appeared in seven games for Utah this season and averaged 0.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.0 minutes per contest.

Pelicans Sign Gary Clark To Two-Way Contract; Waive Jared Harper

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed Gary Clark to a Two-Way contract. Clark was recently waived by the Pelicans, after they had to get back into roster compliance. Clark was signed as a replacement while Didi Louzada was on the Suspended List.

Clark has appeared in eight contests for the Pelicans this season. He's averaged 3.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

To make room for Clark on a Two-Way deal, New Orleans waived Jared Harper. Harper played just 10.5 minutes over two games for the Pelicans.

Cavaliers To Waive Tacko Fall From Two-Way Contract; Sign Brandon Goodwin

The Cleveland Cavaliers will waive center Tacko Fall from his Two-Way contract. The Cavs will then sign point guard Brandon Goodwin to replace Fall. Goodwin is currently on a 10-Day hardship contract with Cleveland that will end on Monday.

Fall appeared in 11 games and played 59 minutes for the Cavaliers this season. The 7-foot-6 center spent the first two seasons of his NBA career with the Boston Celtics on Two-Way deals.

Goodwin is a three-year veteran who has also played for the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks. In three games with Cleveland, the point guard has averaged 7.3 points, 4.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per contest.

The Cavs have been looking for point guard depth behind Darius Garland after losing Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio to season-ending knee injuries. Cleveland recently acquired Rajon Rondo to back up Garland.

Nuggets To Sign Davon Reed To Two-Way Contract

The Denver Nuggets will sign wing Davon Reed to a Two-Way contract. Reed has impressed Denver while on three successive 10-Day hardship contracts.

The Nuggets were facing potentially losing Reed after his most recent 10-Day deal expired. With players returning from the health and safety protocols, and a handful of hopeful injury returns, Denver would eventually be unable to keep Reed long-term without a standard or Two-Way deal.

In 12 games with the Nuggets, Reed has averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 17.6 minutes per contest. Denver head coach Michael Malone has praised Reed's confidence and preparedness during his time with the team.

Petr Cornelie will be waived from his Two-Way deal to open the spot for Reed. Cornelie played 38 minutes over 13 games while with the Nuggets this season.

Magic Sign Admiral Schofield, Waive Mychal Mulder

The Orlando Magic have signed Admiral Schofield to a Two-Way contract.

Schofield originally signed a 10-day contract via hardship exception by the NBA on December 17, then to a second 10-day contract on December 27.

In addition, the Magic have waived two-way guard Mychal Mulder.

Mulder was originally signed as a free agent to a two-way contract by Orlando on October 26. He played in 15 games (two starts) this season with the Magic, averaging 3.7 ppg. and 1.4 rpg. in 13.0 minpg.

Gerald Green Leaving Coaching Job With Rockets To Sign G League Deal

Gerald Green is coming out of retirement and plans to sign in the G League in hopes of making a return to the NBA.

Green announced his retirement in 2021 and joined the Houston Rockets as a player development coach.

Green last played in the NBA during the 18-19 season.

Warriors Waive Jeff Dowtin From Two-Way Deal

The Golden State Warriors have waived Jeff Dowtin from his Two-Way contract.

Dowtin was claimed off waivers by the Warriors on October 18th. Dowtin appeared in four games for the Warriors. Dowtin additional appeared in 12 G League games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 17.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 35.1 minutes per game.
