The Miami Heat assigned Nikola Jovic to its G League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce.

The rookie is averaging 5.5 points and 2.1 rebounds on the season.  

Scoot Henderson hasn't played in a game since November 18th after spending three weeks in concussion protocol following a nasal fracture. Henderson missed the G League Winter Showcase, which is one of the most widely attended events for NBA decision-makers.

Some executives indicated they would be surprised if Henderson plays in another game this season considering he's all but assured of being a top-3 pick.

But G League Ignite officials show down that thinking and insist he will play again soon.

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to sign AJ Lawson to a Two-Way contract.

Dallas will waive Tyler Dorsey to create the roster spot for Lawson.

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to sign Jared Rhoden to a Two-Way deal.

The Pistons will waive Braxton Key to create a roster spot for Rhoden.

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to sign Louis King to a Two-Way contract, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

King is averaging 20 points per game for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

The Sixers will waive Saben Lee to create a roster spot for King, reports Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Scotty Pippen Jr. has been named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Dec. 12, through Saturday, Dec. 17.

Pippen Jr. averaged 26.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals while shooting 51.0 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range as South Bay tallied a perfect 3-0 record for the week. 

In South Bay’s win over Santa Cruz on Wednesday, Pippen Jr. scored 30 points (10-20 FG) with five assists, one rebound, one steal and one block, good for his fourth 30-point outing of the season. He finished with 27 points (9-14 FG), four rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in South Bay’s road win against the Clippers on Thursday. He also tallied 22 points, three rebounds, five assists and a career-high four steals in 32 minutes on Saturday night against the Kings, helping South Bay clinch the No. 1 overall seed in the NBA G League Winter Showcase.

Through 15 games this season, Pippen Jr. is averaging 23.6 points (.453 FG%, .364 3P%), 3.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.7 steals in 28.8 minutes. Additionally, the guard is leading all reserves in scoring amongst players who have appeared in at least 10 games off the bench.

Sterling Brown joined the Raptors 905 ahead of the G League showcase starting on Monday.

David Nwaba was acquired by the Motor City Cruise for Micah Potter and a 2023 second-round pick.

The showcase runs from Monday to Thursday. 

David Nwaba signed a G League contract ahead of next week's G League Showcase in Las Vegas.

Nwaba's move follows Sterling Brown, who also signed a G League contract.

The heavily scouted showcase runs from next Monday to Thursday.

The Miami Heat have waived Two-Way guard Dru Smith. Miami replaced Smith by signing center Orlando Robinson to a Two-Way deal.

Smith started the season on a Two-Way deal with the Heat. He was waived in mid-November, when a need in the frontcourt necessitated signing Robinson. Miami then waived Robinson in late-November and re-signed Smith.

Robinson, as noted above, is in his second Two-Way stint with the Heat. Robinson, like Smith, has spent time with the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the G League this season, in between stints with Miami.

Stanley Johnson has agreed to sign with Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G League.

Johnson was waived by the Utah Jazz before the start of the season.

The Miami Heat, parent affiliate of the Skyforce, currently have an open roster spot.
