The Boston Celtics have recalled forward Kris Joseph from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
Joseph, a 6’7 forward, has appeared in seven games for the Red Claws this season and has posted averages of 20.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.0 steals in 38.1 minutes per game. At the time of his recall, Joseph was ranked fifth in the NBA Development League in points per game.

The Maine Red Claws have traded the rights to Morris Almond to the Iowa Energy in exchange for Iowa’s 2013 2nd round draft selection. Almond spent the 2011-12 and 2009-10 seasons with the Red Claws.
“Mo was a very good player for us over the last two seasons, and we thank him for his time and effort,” said Boston Celtics Director of Player Personnel Austin Ainge. “We have a number of wing players on the team right now that are very close to making the NBA, and we take our commitment to their playing time and development very seriously. The Boston Celtics have assigned center Fab Melo to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
Melo, a 7’0” center, averaged 6.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 23.4 minutes over five games for the Red Claws. Melo recorded a high of 14 points against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on November 25 and recorded a high of 11 rebounds against the Los Angeles D-Fenders on November 30.
Shelvin Mack of the Maine Red Claws was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Dec. 3-9.
A 6-3, 215-pound guard out of Butler, Mack led the Red Claws to a 3-0 record for the week, averaging 22.3 points, 7.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 41.3 minutes. He scored a team-high 26 points on Saturday, Dec. 8 in a 116-114 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, returning the next night to dish out 10 assists in a 103-90 win over the Canton Charge on Dec. 9.
Originally selected in the second round (34th overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, Mack played in 64 games for Washington last season and owns NBA career averages of 3.6 points, 2.0 assists, 1.4 rebounds and 12.2 minutes.

Joseph, a 6’7 forward, appeared in one game for the Red Claws while on assignment and recorded 14 points, six rebounds and two assists against Sioux Falls on December 2. In his three games with the Red Claws, Joseph has averaged 21.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.33 steals.
The Maine Red Claws, have acquired Dajuan Summers from the Available Player Pool.
Summers most recently played for the New Orleans Hornets and attended training camp this season with the Charlotte Bobcats.
Summers, 24, began the 2011-12 season with Montepaschi Siena (Italy-SerieA), appearing in 3 games (4.0 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.0 bpg) before signing with the New Orleans Hornets in October 2011.
