Kris Joseph of the Springfield Armor has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Feb. 18-24. 

Joseph averaged 24.7 points while shooting 47 percent from behind the arc as the Armor went 3-0 on the week.  

Before being traded to Springfield, Joseph played 12 games this season with the Maine Red Claws, averaging 19.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals.

Other top performers considered include Austin’s Cory Joseph, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, Bakersfield’s Damion James, Canton’s Kyle Gibson, Erie’s Kyle Goldcamp, Fort Wayne’s Tony Mitchell, Idaho’s Durrell Summers, Iowa’s Paul Harris, Los Angeles’ Gary Flowers, Maine’s Shelvin Mack, Reno’s Samardo Samuels, Rio Grande Valley’s Andrew Goudelock, Santa Cruz’s Travis Leslie, Sioux Falls’ Demetris Nichols, Texas’ Justin Dentmon and Tulsa’s Rasual Butler.

The Springfield Armor have acquired forward Kris Joseph from the Maine Red Claws in exchange for forward James Mays.

Joseph (6-7, 210, Syracuse) appeared in 12 games (eight starts) with the Red Claws this season, averaging 18.2 points on .437 shooting, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 34.1 minutes per game. Joseph scored a season-high 28 points on November 23 at Canton.

Chris Wright of the Maine Red Claws has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Feb. 4-10. 

Wright (6-8, 225, Dayton) averaged 26.3 points while shooting 66 percent from the field to go with 14.3 rebounds as the Red Claws went 2-1 on the week.  Wright notched a season-high 27 points in a 108-94 road win over the Springfield Armor before coming out the next night and matching his point total in a 104-94 loss to the Bakersfield Jam.  He finished the week with a 25-point outing in a 104-100 win over Springfield in Maine. 

A 2013 NBA D-League All-Star, Wright is averaging 17.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 35.4 minutes in 22 games, all starts, for the Red Claws this season. 

The Boston Celtics announced Sunday that they have recalled center Fab Melo from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.

Melo scored his first points in the NBA on Thursday.

The Boston Celtics have assigned center Fab Melo to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.

Since returning from his last assignment to the Claws, Melo, a 7’0” center, appeared in two games with the Celtics. He appeared in a total of eight minutes in the games against the Magic and Lakers, and recorded two points, a steal and one block.

The Maine Red Claws have acquired Kris Joseph.

Joseph, who was assigned to the Red Claws earlier this season by the Boston Celtics before being waived on Jan. 6, rejoins the team under an NBA Development League contract.

Joseph, 24, was selected by the Celtics in the 2nd round (51st overall) in the 2012 NBA Draft, appearing in six games with Boston. Joseph appeared in ten games on assignment with the Red Claws, averaging 17.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

The NBA D-League has announced their 2013 All-Star teams.

Fourteen of the players have NBA experience and several are currently on NBA rosters.

On the Future All-Star roster are Micah Downs, Courtney Fortson, Ron Howard, Jerome Jordan, Jeremy Lamb, Marcus Landry, Shelvin Mack, Arinze Onuaku, DaJuan Summers and Chris Wright.

On the Prospects All-Star roster are Andrew Goudelock, Damion James, Terrence Jones, Cory Joseph, D.J. Kennedy, James Mays, Jerel McNeal, Demetric Nichols, Tim Ohlbrecht and Henry Sims.

Fab Melo was recalled to the Boston Celtics to rehabilitate a quadriceps injury but will be available on the active roster for Friday night's game against the Orlando Magic.

"That's the thing I've been working hard for, been looking forward to this time," Melo said after working out with assistant coach Jay Larranaga following shootaround. "I'm very excited and I want to be there and help the team."

Melo averaged 11.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.6 blocks in 19 games for the D-League's Maine Red Claws.

Fellow rookie Jared Sullinger is currently dealing with back spasms.
