Ben Simmons said he plans to play in the 2020 Olympics for Australia as long as he remains healthy.

The commitment comes following news that Brett Brown will return as national team coach.

Simmons cited the relationship as part of the reason for his commitment.

"I'm excited. I'm looking forward to it. He's coaching me now, so we have a great relationship. I've known him my whole life. I'm excited to put together a great team," said Simmons.

Brett Brown will become head coach of the Australia national team.

Brown previously coached Australia in 2012.

Brown has been head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers since 2014. Brown signed a three-year extension with Philadelphia in 2018.

Rick Pitino has been hired as head coach of the Greek national team.

Greece will be one of 24 teams playing for four 2020 Olympic bids during a June 23-28 qualifying event.

Pitino could coach Giannis Antetokounmpo if he's available.

Pitino most recently coached in the Greek League with Panathinaikos. Pitino turned down an offer to return as president and coach as he sought an NBA job.
