NBA Draft Expected To Take Place In Either August Or September

Apr 30, 2020 4:17 PM

The NBA draft is expected to be pushed back from June 25th until August or September, sources tell Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

This draft is expected to be complicated for front offices due to the lack of consensus at the top and the limitations of a normal process due to COVID-19.

The draft can't happen until after the 19-20 season is over. There has been some speculation that the draft could take place as scheduled on June 25 if the season is canceled outright.

205 Early-Entry Prospects Officially Declare For 2020 NBA Draft

Apr 29, 2020 1:20 AM

205 early-entry prospects officially declared for the 2020 NBA Draft, featuring 163 players from colleges or other educational institutes and 42 international players.

Sunday was the deadline for underclassman and international players to submit their paperwork.

That number is down from the previous two seasons, with NBA teams prepared to make selections without workouts, combines, or pro days.

The draft is currently scheduled for June 25th, though NBA teams are asking for it to be pushed back to no earlier than August 1st.

"The league office continues to evaluate potential modifications to the pre-draft process, including the draft combine, as a result of the evolving COVID-19 situation. We will provide teams with updated information as it becomes available," wrote the league in a memo to teams.

LaMelo Ball, Lonzo Ball Sign With Roc Nation

Apr 27, 2020 1:34 PM

LaMelo, Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball will sign with Jay-Z's Sports Management company Roc Nation Sports.

"This was a family decision," LaMelo Ball's manager Jermaine Jackson told ESPN. "This is now an extended family. They put together a beautiful game plan with Jay-Z. The basketball game is about to change. They are going to create something totally new."

Raymond Brothers will be the primary agent overseeing the Ball Brothers.

"We talked to several agents, but the family had good vibes with Roc Nation," Jackson told ESPN. "I've known Jay-Z since I played for the Knicks, but this is what the kids wanted to do. Jay-Z is a master at what he does. He's global. It's power beyond power.

"This is something that they are building from the ground up together. They are brothers and they love each other and that's how they roll. It's all love. They don't separate from each other."
