Duke Freshman Jalen Johnson Opting Out Of Season To Prepare For Draft

Feb 16, 2021 1:13 AM

Duke freshman Jalen Johnson announced that he is opting out of the rest of the season to prepare for the NBA Draft.

"Coach (Mike Krzyzewski), my teammates and the program have been nothing but supportive throughout this season, especially during the rehab of my foot injury. My family, coach and I have made the decision that I should not play the remainder of this season so I can be 100 percent healthy in preparation for the NBA Draft," said Johnson in a released statement.

Johnson averaged 11.2 points and 6.1 rebounds in 13 games at Duke.

Johnson is currently ranked No. 6 in ESPN's draft rankings.
