The Atlanta Hawks have requested waivers on Diamond Stone.

Stone appeared in seven games last season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Stone was traded to the Hawks in the Jamal Crawford trade in early July.

Stone was a second round pick in 2016 out of Maryland.

The Atlanta Hawks have named Josh Longstaff as Head Coach of the Erie BayHawks, the organization’s NBA G-League affiliate.

“Josh is a tremendous communicator and has shown the ability to build productive relationships with young players. His passion and knowledge of player development fits in perfectly with the program we are building in Erie as well as Atlanta,” Rose said.  “We’re excited to be able to add a young coach of his caliber to the organization.”

Longstaff, 34, spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach with the New York Knicks after beginning his NBA coaching career with the Oklahoma City Thunder (2010-14), first serving as Player Personnel and Video Coordinator for one year before being promoted to Video Analyst and Player Development Coach.  While a member of the Thunder staff, he helped Oklahoma City to four straight playoff appearances, including the 2011-12 Western Conference title as well as two conference finals appearances.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of such a great organization,” Longstaff said.  “I’m thrilled and humbled to be able to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a head coach on the professional level.”

The Atlanta Hawks have claimed guard/forward Nicolas Brussino off waivers

He was waived by the Dallas Mavericks on July 20.

Brussino, 6’8, appeared in 54 games as a rookie last season with the Mavericks, averaging 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9.6 minutes. He also spent time with the Texas Legends of the NBA G League, averaging 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 35.8 minutes (.628 FG%, .520 3FG%, .842 FT%) in five contests.

Prior to Dallas, the 24-year-old played professionally in his native Argentina with Penarol (2015-16) and Regatas Corrientes (2012-15). He has also been a member of the Argentinian National Team since 2012, including participating in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

John Collins fell to the Atlanta Hawks at No. 19 in the 2017 NBA Draft and he had an excellent Summer League.

Collins ranks second in Summer League in PER at 32.5.

“I wanted to prove that I should have went higher,” Collins said. “Not to say that I’m not happy with the spot I’ve fallen. I’ve fallen to great spot, a great organization, the fans love me. I have a great opportunity here, which I’m blessed for. But I want to show everybody, I feel like I should have gone number one. Maybe that isn’t realistic. But I want to prove to everybody that I should have went higher. I’ve been overlooked most of my career. So I’m kind of happy, because it gives me that same energy, that same fear and drive.”

Collins was a first-team All-ACC selection in 2017 as well as the conference's Most Improved Player.

The Atlanta Hawks backed out of an offer to Mo Speights.

Speights and the Hawks had been in talks over the past week.

Speights opted out of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers to become a free agent.

The Hawks signed Dewayne Dedmon in free agency to play center after trading away Dwight Howard.

Ersan Ilyasova has agreed upon a one-year, $6 million with the Atlanta Hawks.

Ilyasova finished the 17-18 season with the Hawks following a deadline deal from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Dewayne Dedmon has agreed to a two-year, $14 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks.

Dedmon will also receive a player option for Year 2 of the deal.

In a breakout season with the San Antonio Spurs, Dedmon averaged 17.5 minutes, 5.1 points and 6.5 rebounds in 76 games.

Dedmon also signed a two-year deal with the Spurs last offseason.

Travis Schlenk is familiar with Dedmon from their time with the Warriors.

The Atlanta Hawks will not match the four-year, $71 million offer sheet Tim Hardaway Jr. signed with the New York Knicks.

Hardaway will receive a player option in the final year of the deal.

Hardaway was drafted by the Knicks with the 24th overall pick in the 2013 draft out of Michigan and was traded to the Hawks after his second season for a first round pick that became Jerian Grant.

Hardaway averaged 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 27.3 minutes per game last season with the Hawks.

Jamal Crawford has been bought out by the Atlanta Hawks following his trade to the team by the Los Angeles Clippers.

David Aldridge of NBA.com reports Crawford figures to receive interest from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Crawford no longer have mutual interest.

Mike Muscala has agreed upon a two-year, $10 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks.

Muscala will have a player option for Year 2 of the deal.
