Hawks Hire Jeff Teague As Regional Scout

Mar 9, 2022 3:35 PM

The Atlanta Hawks have hired Jeff Teague as a regional scout.

"Yeah, I'm never going to retire," Teague told KL Chouinard of NBA.com.

Teague finished last season with the Milwaukee Bucks and won a title.

"I've been all around the world watching basketball, so I've got a pretty good eye for who I think can play at a certain level," Teague said.

Teague planed the idea of joining the Hawks as a scout when he rejoined the team in 2020.

"When I was there for my second tenure with the Hawks, I told Travis (Schlenk) that I wanted to look into working in the front office," Teague said. "(I asked if) once I got done playing if he would be open to trying to help me out. And he told me when I first got there that first day that when I was done playing, if he was still there that he would look out for me. So I just reached out and he kept his word."

Bogdan Bogdanovic: We Lost That Identity On How To Win Games

Mar 2, 2022 9:08 AM

Atlanta Hawks wing Bogdan Bogdanovic didn't mince words when talking about his team's struggles this season. After blowing a big lead and losing to the Boston Celtics, Bogdanovic said the Hawks have lost their identity.

"We lost that identity on how to win games," Bogdanovic said. "We executed bad. We didn't find a way to win the game."

Bogdanovic also said the Hawks can't be considered a good team when they lose games to undermanned teams. Boston lost Jaylen Brown early in the game to a sprained ankle. He did not return, but the Celtics still outscored the Hawks 56-33 in the second half.

"When you're up 15 and they lose one of the top two guys on the team and if you're not able to win that game, you're not a good team."
