Jayson Tatum Enters COVID-19 Protocols

Jayson Tatum has entered the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Tatum felt the effects of COVID-19 for a considerable amount of time after his infection during the 20-21 season.

Tatum is averaging 25.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 36.7 minutes per game this season for the Boston Celtics.

Celtics To Sign Al-Farouq Aminu, Norvel Pelle To 10-Day Hardship Deals

The Boston Celtics are planning to sign veteran forward Al-Farouq Aminu and center Norvel Pelle to 10-Day contracts using the hardship exception. Boston currently has eight players in the health and safety protocols, including most of their frontcourt rotation.

Aminu was waived at the end of the preseason by the San Antonio Spurs. The 11-year veteran appeared in 23 total games with the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls last season. Aminu holds career averages of 7.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Pelle has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings in his two-year NBA career. This season, Pelle has averaged 8.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks for the Cleveland Charge of the G League.

Kanter is now the eighth member of the Celtics to enter protocols. 

Kanter is averaging 4.7 points and 5.6 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game this season for the Celtics.

Joe Johnson has agreed to sign with the Boston Celtics on a 10-day hardship deal.

Johnson was originally drafted by the Celtics in 2001.

Johnson last played in the NBA during the 17-18 season and was with the Detroit Pistons during the 2019 preseason.

Originally selected by Utah in the second round (34th overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft, Miles, 34, has averaged 9.6 points on 41.1% shooting (35.8% 3-PT, 80.9% FT), 2.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 20.4 minutes in 848 career NBA games (303 starts) with the Jazz, Cleveland, Indiana, Toronto, Memphis, and Washington.

Towns averaged 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists as the Minnesota Timberwolves went 3-0.

Tatum averaged 31.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists as the Boston Celtics went 2-1.

Josh Richardson Enters Health And Safety Protocols Again

Boston Celtics wing Josh Richardson has re-entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. Richardson was in the protocols at the end of last week and had to travel separately from the team after Boston left Phoenix.

Richardson missed the last game of the Celtics road trip against the Suns and then missed Boston's home game against Milwaukee on Wednesday. He played against Golden State and New York on Friday and Saturday.

At this point it's unknown what Richardson's status is, beyond that he has been ruled out for Monday's game vs Philadelphia.

Celtics To Sign Justin Jackson To 10-Day Contract Via Hardship

The Boston Celtics are going to add some additional frontcourt depth by signing Justin Jackson to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception. Boston currently has five players in the NBA's health and safety protocols. All five are frontcourt players.

Jackson split last season between the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder. He's also played for the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks during this four-year NBA career.

This season, Jackson has been playing for the Texas Legends of the G League. He's averaged 22.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Jackson has shot 42.4% from behind the arc in 10 games with Texas.
