Aug 29, 2017 12:56 PM

Jared Sullinger and the Brooklyn Nets are discussing a deal.

Sullinger posted for a photo wearing Nets gear with D'Angelo Russell from their team's practice facility on Tuesday.

"I'm a big fan of the coach (Kenny Atkinson)," agent David Falk said. "He's a great motivator, and they have a great facility.

"(Sullinger) is a talented big man and we're looking into an opportunity."

The Nets have an open roster spot.

Sullinger played 11 games last season with the Toronto Raptors before undergoing foot surgery. Sullinger was waived by the Phoenix Suns following a deadline move.

D'Angelo Russell: I Want Teams To Hate The Nets

Aug 24, 2017 9:17 PM

D'Angelo Russell is resetting his career with the Brooklyn Nets after two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.

“I want teams to hate us,” Russell said at the Nets Inaugural Basketball Camp at Battery Park City. “We’ve struggled over the last few years in Brooklyn. Teams are used to coming in and taking nights off. I just want to rebuild that and make it a place where people come and say, ‘alright we got the crowd against us. It’s New York.’”

Russell is ready to prove doubters wrong after the Lakers gave up on him to clear cap space.

“It goes back to the chip on my shoulder," said Russell. "I wouldn’t say, ‘it’s D’Angelo’s team’ or anything like that, but I feel like it’s up for everybody to make their imprint as a team. Me coming in with a chip on my shoulder, A.C. [Allen Crabbe] coming in with a chip on his shoulder, I feel like we’re going to blend together and we’re going to be a great team. As long as we’re making strides that’s all I could really ask for.”

D'Angelo Russell 'Excited For New Opportunity To Start Over' With Nets

Aug 18, 2017 10:28 PM

D'Angelo Russell was asked whether he believes he was treated fairly by the Los Angeles Lakers.

“It’s business, man," said Russell. "That’s how I got to look at it. A lot of things happen in this league and you don’t agree with it or however you may feel about it and at the end of the day realize it’s business.”

Russell was asked for his reaction to the trade to the Brooklyn Nets.

“I was excited. I was excited to get a new opportunity to start over, but it definitely caught me off guard. You see guys get traded you never think it would have to be you until it does. New step for me.”

Nets 'Need To Show Progress Out Of Respect For Ownership'

Aug 3, 2017 5:56 PM

The Brooklyn Nets may not have any meaningful cap space until 2020 after taking on the salaries of Allen Crabbe, Timofey Mozgov and DeMarre Carroll this offseason.

"There is a limit to how much dead money you can take," Sean Marks said. "You end up with a roster of 21-year-olds and dead salary."

"We need to show progress," Kenny Atkinson said, "out of respect for ownership."

"If you sign the wrong guy to $15 million or $20 million," Marks said before the Crabbe deal, "they might become untradeable."

Marks and Atkinson are beginning their second full season with the Nets.
