Kenny Atkinson Fined $25,000 Following Ejection

Dec 22, 2018 6:54 PM

The NBA fined Kenny Atkinson $25,000 following his ejection in the Brooklyn Nets 114-106 loss against the Indiana Pacers.

The league said he was fined for "verbally abusing game officials and failing to leave the court in a timely manner".

The ejection occurred following a non-foul call with the Nets down by 5 points with 1:09 left in the game.

"We've just got to be mentally stronger, and I've got to be mentally stronger, fighting through those situations. Just frustration on my part. I have to coach myself. I don't love that scene out there. That's not what I'm there for. I'm not here to make a show. So I apologize for that. That's not who I am," said Atkinson.

Jared Dudley: Joe Harris Is Modern JJ Redick

Dec 21, 2018 5:49 PM

Jared Dudley compared Joe Harris' movement and playmaking off screens to JJ Redick.

"Joe Harris now is the modern JJ Redick...he's taking over, coming off a lot of ball screens, can put it down. The thing about him compared to JJ, I think we all can say his layup package, going into the lane, finishing, is one of the better on our team".

Dudley added that he doesn't see a limit for the 27-year-old.

"Aside from Spencer (Dinwiddie) I would put him No. 2 in finishing, connecting at the paint. You look at him, white guy, 6-4, 6-5 out there, doesn't look like a ball player and next thing you know he's got 16, 18 points and showing you he's going at you...I think the sky's the limit. I think that people don't really take him seriously. After he has about 16, hit three or four threes, they do".

Harris is averaging 15 points and 3.8 assists on 55.2% from the 3-point line in his last six games.
