The Charlotte Hornets attempted to engage the Chicago Bulls last spring on a trade for Jimmy Butler.

Sources say the Bulls had no interest in anything the Hornets could offer for Butler.

Chicago ultimately traded Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and a pick swap that led to Lauri Markkanen. 

Cody Zeller will be out approximately six weeks due to surgery to repair a torn meniscus. 

Zeller suffered the injury last Wednesday.

Zeller is averaging 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game for the Hornets.

Zeller suffered the injury during the third quarter of Charlotte's loss on Wednesday to the Warriors.

The Hornets are still debating Zeller's treatment options.

Frank Kaminsky also suffered an ankle injury during the game and is day-to-day.

The Charlotte Hornets announced today that Steve Clifford will be away from the team for the immediate future to address his health.

There is no timetable for Clifford's return.

Hornets Associate Head Coach Stephen Silas will serve as acting head coach. 

Clifford underwent a heart procedure in 2013 shortly after he was hired as head coach.
